Hello and welcome to The Daily Compulsion. My name is Nathan Rice and I make mini-comics. I have always been a huge admirer of the art of cartooning and around the age of 23, after discovering the wonderful world of underground and independent comics and realizing that comics can be about absolutely anything, I got the bright idea that I could do it myself.

The Daily Compulsion #1 was completed in January of 2004, #2 was released sometime around July 2004, #3 came out in the fall of 2005, and I finished the fourth issue in December 2006. You can see more about these comics here.

I am an alcoholic and as the years went on my drinking progressed more and more. Drinking alcoholicly and being prone to depression is not a combination conducive to creativity. After the fourth issue, I did very little cartooning.

Miraculously, I finally sobered up for good in May of 2012. In my sobriety, I found a renewed interest in cartooning and remembered to recognize the importance of having an outlet for my ideas and feelings. Therefore, The Daily Compulsion #5 was completed August of 2013. God willing, my sobriety and cartooning will continue for a long time to come.
